About 20 years ago I was deep in the jungle in South Zairie (now the Republic of the Congo). While forging my way through extremely thick foilage with a machete I noticed a clearing ahead of me. In the clearing, slowly sinking into the sandy jungle soil, was a complete 1948 Fleetline. No rust, no dents and all there. I suppose the babbit banger six gave way to the sandy conditions. Nearby villagers said that when the Belgians left in about 1960, they left the car there.
